village

Susa (Piedmont) is a town and comune in Piedmont in the Metropolitan City of Turin. Susa is a town steeped in history. Capital of the Roman province of Alpes Cottiae, Susa was historically an important stop along the trade routes connecting Italy and France. Today, it is close enough to Turin to be considered a part of the metropolitan area, with easy train access to the city. This town of 6300 people (2018) sits in the middle of Susa Valley, at the confluence of the Cenischia with the Dora Riparia (a tributary of the Po River), at the foot of the Cottian Alps, 51 km (32 mi) west of Turin.
